“He’s definitely been an impediment—it’s an understatement—on the life issue,” Bowen stated. “It’s incredibly frustrating to have the House and the governorship and be rendered helpless because of one person.”
Gronstal has long used his control over the Senate agenda to shut down conservative proposals, including efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, restrict abortion, and advance other Republican-backed initiatives. Bowen and other pro-life advocates continue to push for change, urging Iowans to stay engaged and fight for the protection of the unborn.
